Alamogordo Department of Public Safety (ADPS) Director Sam Trujillo was elected president of the New Mexico Association of Chiefs of Police (NMCP) after being a member of the NMCP executive board for 7 years.
"I have lived in this community my whole life," Trujillo told the Alamogordo Daily News. "I've raised my family here. I like this job, community and the talent level of our officers."
Trujillo graduated from the police academy at Western New Mexico University in 1984 and went on to graduate from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Academy. He earned himself a paralegal degree from New Mexico State University-Alamogordo in 2003, and was selected as the outstanding paralegal graduate of his NMSU-A graduating class.
As NMCP president, he said he will lead the organization in taking recommendations to various government agencies, the police academy and legislative committees to propose solutions to law enforcement problems across the state. The NCMP will also focus on improving law enforcement agencies through accreditation.
A paralegal degree can be a supplement to another career, offering new expertise and opening up new career options. If you want to broaden your horizons, perhaps you should consider applying to a paralegal school.
