Awarded for her work as an advocate for children's health services, Jennifer Tlumak, paralegal and client advocate at the Tennessee Justice Center, has been named the 2009 Young Leader Award by the Tennessee Alliance for Progress.
"I am very honored to receive this award and grateful to have the opportunity to work with the Tennessee Justice Center," said Tlumak, thanking the Tennessee Justice Center for providing the opportunities it has. "In particular, TJC gives me an opportunity to advocate for Tennessee's children and work to reform public policies that are harmful to their health and future."
According to an article in The Tennessean, Tlumak's work has been both at the individual level, working with the families of young children, and on proof development and investigation in class-action cases. Tlumak also works on the Tennessee Justice Center Website and the center's Mothers of the Year statewide recognition program.
Tlumak has had a chance to work with the underprivileged, focus on environmental issues and volunteer with campaigns. If access to these kinds of opportunities interest you, perhaps you should look into a paralegal degree.
