Training for a paralegal degree can be as fun and interesting as it is rewarding for your career.
One recent example can be found in Tennessee, where the Chattanoogan newspaper reported on plans for paralegal students to hold a mock trial. According to the report, paralegal students from two local colleges teamed up with the Tennessee Paralegal Association and a circuit court judge to hold the event.
"The experience provides a venue through which paralegal students sharpen their critical thinking and debate skills, develop their presentation talents, and learn courtroom rules and protocol," Karen McGuffee of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga told the newspaper, going on to note that students also gain poise and confidence that is crucial to their future legal success.
Mock trials are actually very common in paralegal studies programs around the country. After graduation, students put their skills to use in a variety of ways, performing essential services for large legal firms, public defenders' offices, and many others.
